A 2 ans de l’exposition universelle de Shanghai qui consacrera définitivement cette ville comme la ville la plus branché, la plus excentrique de la Chine : on parle du « life style », l’argent n’est plus le seul critère de la réussite, c’est dorénavant plus le savoir-vivre. Les collectionneurs passionnés se précipitent de plus en plus dans des salons d’art pour dénicher des œuvres rares, des œuvres originales, des œuvres qui viennent de loin…

ART SHANGHAI 2007 :
The 5th ART Shanghai will be held in Shanghai Mart from 18th to 22th April, 2007. After having been held successfully for four times, as a famous annual art exhibition and domestic art fair, ART Shanghai is on its way again. This year, in an exhibition hall of nearly 10000 square meters in area, you’ll feast on thousands of wonderful artworks which belong to more than one hundred worldwide galleries and art institutions from China, U.S, Italy, France, Belgium, Israel, Japan and Korea. Besides, you may purchase your favorite artworks there as well. As the first domestic large international art fair to open in 2007, ART Shanghai will certainly become the weathercock of Chinese art fair and international art trend.
In this year’s art fair, you can not only appreciate the masterpieces from western masters of art, like Chagall, Buffet, Corot, Dali,etc; the Japanese traditional paintings from their painting master—-Hiroshi Senju, but also meet the artworks from the artists active in current international art fair, like Zhang Wuji, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Zhang Xiaogang, Zhou Chunya and so on. In addition, we recommend you three thematic art exhibitions of Chinese contemporary young artists: « The Variation of Pictures—invited exhibition of Chinese contemporary oil painting artists », « The Very Image—exhibition of China young oil painters’ outstanding paintings » and « The Very Wash—2007 invited exhibition of the contemporary era wash artists ». These three exhibitions will show you the artworks from the new generation of Chinese art field, such as Yi Zhaoyang, He Seng, Wei Jia and Li Jikai; also a united exhibition « Expressions and Moods » including the artworks from Guo Runwen, Fan Bo, Deng Jianjin and Chen Zijun is recommended by Shengling Gallery. These high quality artworks include oil paintings, Chinese traditional paintings, sculptures, photography, engravings, etc.
The particularly worth mentioning things are the photographic works on show this year. There are artworks from Belgium most famous photographic maters, Marie-Francoise Plissart, Christian Carez and Vincent Dubois, which are brought by Belgium Dayin Tang Art & Culture S.P.R.L.; the artwork called « Digital Flowers » from Italy B&B Arte working together with Dany Vescovi; Shanghai photographer Shen Jianhua’s Zen Buddhism theme artworks brought by Shanghai Art Labor Gallery which are recreated through digital technique; the artworks recording actual events from famous photographers Hou Dengke, etc, brought by Beijing Kingart Visual Culture Communication Co., Ltd. It manifests that art market is going to pay special attention to such kind of new medium like photograph.
